Geographical Reach: Somerset
Project Duration: 2007
Project Funder: Somerset Community Foundation
Project Manager: Ali Smith email@example.com
The main aim was to bring musical workshops and activities to areas of deprivation and disadvantaged young people in Somerset. Each session lasted three days, with the overall aim of composing original songs and creating a CD.
The first session presented an opportunity to create junk percussion and pan pipes. All the participants made their own pan pipes led by Saul Eisenberg, Johnny Rodrigues and Moss Velez. The participants were also given the special opportunity to get some tips on their compositions from award winning folk trio, Faustus.
These sessions were composed of dynamic workshops working with people from Taunton MIND and other groups of marginalised people from the Taunton Deane area.
