European MediaLab Praxis

This project will explore the development and use of medialabs in different European contexts, with the aim of up-skilling young people to prepare for working in today’s digital world.

The concept of Medialab was born in the US in the 1980s. It is a platform for the exchange of information and space for creation, reflection and debate on digital culture. It is a place to learn and explore new skills in digital media of all types. Together, project partners will compare their working methods and develop new facilitation tools to work with young learners.

Aim

The aim is to create a community of users gathering together to create a resource around the new Media according to a commonly defined methodology.

Each partner will run a medialab pilot which fits in with their own style of programme delivery. The results and evaluation of the pilots will contribute to developing model(s) for others wanting to create a medialab.
