Working with Older People
There is little doubt that live music is a powerful tool in stimulating memories and emotions in all people especially in older audiences. Skilled musicians can work with people suffering from dementia and been able to bring a smile to sad faces and activity to inert limbs. These are rare skills but vital ones.
Working With Young People
The importance of music to young peoples cannot be underestimated. SUPERACT! can offer the chance to work with schools and other youth groups in bringing live music to them and work with them in music making, giving the chance to participate and enjoy the experience of live music.
Working with People with Special Needs
Music therapy is recognised as being of benefit to people with special needs, but this requires great skill on behalf of the musicians themselves. SUPERACT! works with musicians who have worked extensively in this field covering all ages and their success has been recognised by return visits and high commendations.
Working in the Justice System
Bringing music into prisons and Youth Offending Institutes is another area where SUPERACT! can call on the expertise of musicians. Particular success in this field has been the creation of music technology workshops where songs are composed and then performed, culminating in the production of a CD of the finished work. The chance to nurture musical talent in these circumstances and help create meaningful pathways for the future.
