Bandstand Brass Blowing Up a Summer Storm!

By June 7, 2017 News No Comments

Summer is here and with the sunshine comes the sonorous sound of brass blowing on the Somerset breeze.

Superact now runs the Wells Bandstand Festival as local stalwarts David and John step back to enjoy their retirement. The Sunday afternoon series takes place every week until 3 September, featuring a different local brass act each week. Refreshments are provided by local charities for community members to enjoy the music in Wells Recreation Ground. And if rain attempts to stop play – do not fear! Concerts will take place in the beautiful historic, 15th century Bishop’s Barn, just metres away from the bandstand. Wells will have its weekly dose of brass, come rain or shine!

Later in the season concerts will begin again at the annual Blake Gardens Bandstand festival in Bridgwater. Superact has been managing popular local events for the last 10 years and 2017 looks set to be a treat for all with a wealth of local brass talent, tea and ice creams served by the nearby museum and beautiful green surroundings in the heart of the historic market town.

So come along, bring your friends, and enjoy some good old-fashioned quality time with a healthy dollop of fresh air and brass thrown in for good measure!
