Although we’re all lapping up the festive cheer, work doesn’t stop for Superact at this time of year! We have recently become partners in a new Erasmus+ project and our Project Manager Patsy Lang went over to France last week for the launch meeting. Here she reports back with the first few details on what is sure to turn out to be an exciting new partnership in cultural, digital innovation and learning:
I am here in Marseilles at a new European project that Superact has recently been asked to join, European Medialab Praxis. We are working with the French-based cultural association Urban Prod, and a variety of other partners from across Europe. I am here with Laurence Curtis and Vjeran Milinovic, a digital artist who has been attending all our Exe-Arts sessions.
The project, broadly speaking, is about experimenting in the development and use of media labs in all the partner countries. It is a 2 year project and Superact will host the final event in July, 2018.
We have had three very long working days talking about what we expect from the project, and what the Project aim or Manifesto should be. Today we are in groups writing up the Manifesto, creating a glossary of terminology we will use, and making decisions about what the website should include.
We have also been out to many lovely meals and explored the port areas, and old parts of the city. Our last morning will be spent at an art market we hope. A good time has been had by all amongst the hard work.
