Exe-Arts is back! Our spring programme starts with sessions for the homeless at St. Petrock’s supported accommodation and Morwenna Court temporary housing shelter, both in Exeter. Music sessions started up last Thursday at St. Petrock’s, led by the wonderful storyteller and musician Iwan Kushka. Sabine Schmidt will continue delivering some experimental painting sessions at the centres, aimed at freeing peoples’ creativity.
Our sessions intend to provide a time of calm where participants can focus on the positive and hopefully be energised and inspired. We will follow the painting with some other visual arts sessions and will be working with residents of Gabriel House homeless hostel to make a documentary about the renovations taking place there this spring.
Our community programme picks up with the first Family creativity session coming up this Saturday, February 25th, at Exeter Community Centre. The focus is FELT ART and artist Holly Jarrett of ‘Holly Made This’ will be helping people of all ages to work with this exciting new art form to create 2D and 3D pieces. Come along, try it out and take home something you’ve made with your own two hands!
Our Thursday evening sessions will start on 9th March with ‘the Painting Experience’ working with different paper, paints and implements. We hope to see you there!
